I was laid off for 3 months, the parent company of my former employer decided to close the corporate office that I worked in.  My last day of work was May 30, 2014; I assumed that I would find employment in less than a month – wrong!  To clarify, I could have worked almost immediately if I had chosen to settle for a position that did not resonate with me, but I made the conscious choice to be selective in my search.   I spent time looking within to identify what mattered to me in employment and what I was seeking, I knew I wasn’t looking for a job ~ I was looking for a career.  In my opinion a job is not something that you are passionate about, it is something done out of necessity – a career is something that resonates with you.

Searching for my next career reminded me about life and decisions that we make, particularly in relationships.  Out of fear or simple ignorance of not understanding our worth we make choices that result in us not living the life intended for us to have.   I willingly entertained relationships that I knew were not meant for me.  I do not consider myself better than anyone else but I do consider myself to good for certain relationships and situations; I had to learn my value and worth to get to that point.  Once I understood my value, I was able to clearly identify what I wanted in a relationship.  By identifying what I wanted, I started to see a change in who I attracted in my life.   The law of attraction identifies that everything begins with a thought, once I changed my thoughts I noticed a change in my reality.

My journey has not been easy but I can say that the growth and self-love that has flourished during my journey has been priceless.   I eventually found the right position for me, I started September 2nd, the week after my severance ended.   What we want may not always come in the timing that we think it should happen in but it always comes at the right time.  The right thing will come when you are spiritually, mentally, and emotionally ready to receive it – the beginning of your new reality all start with the right thoughts.
