I was sitting on the couch mindlessly watching yet another reality TV show when it hit me – why am I investing in someone else’s reality. Earlier in the day I was reading The Wealth Choice by Dr. Dennis Kimbro, in the book it talks about the choices that those making 7 figure incomes make. One of the choices made by the wealthy is they chose to invest in themselves. Reality TV is how the cast on those shows earn their income but as I sat there helping them earn their income, I am not maximizing my ability to earn mine. Each time I choose to do something other than empower, uplift and educate myself, I am not walking in my God-given destiny of wealth and prosperity.
I am not knocking reality shows, I understand that for some this is their livelihood not to mention the livelihood of the crew that support the shows. What I am knocking is the choices that we (which includes me) make by investing our time into someone else’s wealth creation before investing in our own. This same mindset could be used for when people DVR a show, instead of watching the recorded show how about you invest in yourself by reading a book or learning something new.
Reality TV shows are far from real life, I think we all know this by now. People that are on these shows studies what it takes to maximize their income potential, they do their research which allows them to reach their wealth potential. I challenge myself and I challenge you to invest in yourself, stop investing in someone else’s wealth building especially if you are not getting anything in return.
Bottom line…if it is not a win – win situation, I am not interested!
